IN AWE OF YOU

I won’t bore you with the reasons why I haven’t been writing (or rather publishing) in a while.
Suffice to say, that when you fall, you dust yourself off and try again - that’s how we do.

So this is me dusting off and getting up.I’m continuing on the declarations - last was WITH ARMS OPEN WIDE.

IN AWE OF YOU is best described by telling a short story.

Once upon a time, there was a little girl.

She LOVED beautiful things.

She loved running through the garden and chasing butterflies.

She loved when summer rain would fall and she could dance barefoot outside the house, letting the heavy raindrops cool her skin after a hot day.

She loved watching her mother cradle her baby brother and sing him lullabies,

she could sit and watch for hours, allowing that sight to fill her heart with love.

She loved church at Christmas - candles lighting up the the old structures of the sacred building, illuminating the stories painted in the old and high windows.

She loved making snowmen on the snow-covered front porch and loved staring at the frost that had shaped little crystals on the kitchen window. There was one thing, she loved the most, one person she found more captivating and more beautiful than the rest: her Abba.

Every night, when he came home - just in time to read her a bed time story and tuck her in, she’d sit on his lap and tell him of all the wonderful things she had experienced that day.
Everything she had heard, seen, smelled and felt.
When she finished, she’d just sit and listen to his warm, soft voice singing her lullabies or reading her favourite story.

And every time, as her heavy eyelids fought the sleep that was about to take over, she couldn’t help but feel deeply grateful, peaceful and happy and overcome with the strongest desire to share those feelings with her friends at school the next day.— ‘I’m telling you, once and for all, that unless you return to square one and start over like children, you’re not even going to get a look at the kingdom, let alone get in. Whoever becomes simple and elemental again, like this child, will rank high in God’s kingdom.’ Matthew 18:3 MSG

Don’t be fooled. I have seen hardship and I have experienced suffering.
And yet, I have a deep conviction that living like the little girl in our story is possible.

In posture, and heart attitude.

She will certainly get sick and be miserable at times. Other times she will fall and hurt herself.

But each time she will reach out to her Abba, knowing that in His arms, everything is not just going to be okay, but everything will come together for good.

That is the way of trust.

That is living in Awe.

Loving God being in awe of him and the beautiful things of this world he’s entrusted us with.
