I TRUST YOU IN ME (a prayer)

I trust You more than I trust myself.

At times I let myself down,
but You are constant, You are faithful,
constantly good.

I trust You more than I trust myself.

I trust that when I’m not sure which way to go,
You are with me, whether I turn left or right;
Trust, that Your voice is - YOU are - strong enough,
to push through the clutter, the doubt, the clouds.

I trust You more than I trust myself.

I trust YOU in me.

I trust that: no longer do I live,
but Christ lives within me;
Trust that as I seek you,

Your Spirit takes me on a journey -
a journey of growing, maturing and becoming more like You.
I trust You more than I trust myself.

Your ways are higher than mine,
and Your thoughts are higher than my thoughts -
and yet - in Your unending grace -
You let me in on them daily, as I choose to listen.

I trust You more than I trust myself.

Teach me to walk with You and learn from You.

Teach me to live and move in those unforced rhythms of grace.

I trust YOU in me.
