ANOTHER YEAR

Another year over, another year past.
Like
All the ones past and yet unlike any of the ones before.

Another year over.

A year of revelation,
Joy, tears and truth.
Hope, pain and struggle,
And yet so much love.

Another year past.

Like the butterfly breaking
Free from its cocoon,
I broke free, free…free!
The beginning of something new.

Free from expectations,
Free from status quo.
Free from old labels that don’t fit anymore.

Another year over,
Another year past.

Equally stronger and more vulnerable too,
So much learnt only to find:
I know nothing at all.

New hopes for the future
And faith that this too shall pass,
That darkness always births light,
That love is what matters,
And all that survives.

Thankful for yesterday,
Hopeful for tomorrow,
Fully present today.
